Mercy has been a high school for almost 100 years. It has seen many different faces throughout the years in it’s student body. It has even been granted the great privilege of seeing some of those lovely faces again but this time instead of being students they are now leaders of the 5 Mercy values. The class of 2014 graduated last year and they surely left an excellent mark on Mercy as a whole. So we’ve picked out some of the most memorable students then and now that knew what being a women of Mercy truly meant.
Our first student is Taylor Maas. Taylor graduated from Mercy last year as part of the class of 2014. She was one half of the spirit co-chair dynamic duo to our student body. She is currently studying at Xavier University. She has decided to have a double major in Special Education and Theatre. She is also minoring in Theology. Taylor is most known for her positive attitude and hilarious Hide and Seek productions.
Our first teacher is Mrs. David. Mrs. David graduated from Mercy as a part of the class of 1983. Mrs. David went to the University of Cincinnati where majored in Secondary Education, got her masters in English, and her Bachelors degree in English and Comparative Literature. She was apart of Phi Beta Kappa, which ment she was of the select few in her class that could be a part of this incredible Honor’s Society. She is now back as an amazing English teacher. She also teaches Broadcasting and Digital Journalism. Mrs. David has been teaching at Mercy for 18 years.
Our second student is Sara Heyd. Sara graduated from Mercy last year as part of the class of 2014. She was the other half of the spirit co-chair dynamic duo to our student body. Sara is currently at The University of Dayton. She is majoring in communications. Sara is most known for inspiring school spirit and love of life.
Our third student is Abby Wocher. Abby Graduated from Mercy last year with the class of 2014. She was co-president of Mercy. Abby is currently at the Ohio State University. She is majoring in communications. Abby is most remembered for her positive attitude and optimistic outlook.
Our fourth student is Trisha Cavanaugh. Trisha graduated from Mercy last year with the class of 2014. She was the other co-president for last years student body. Trisha is currently at the University of Indianapolis. She is majoring in art therapy. Trisha is most remembered for her amazing artwork and kind heart.
Our fourth teacher is Miss Mitchell. Miss Mitchell graduated from Mercy as a part of the class of 1988. She then went on to receive her Bachelors in English at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Miss. Mitchell is the faculty advisor for student council and student advancement leadership team, and student manager for the advancement department.
Our fifth student is Emma Hatch. Emma graduated from Mercy as part of the class of 2014. Emma was a commended student for the National Merit Scholarship Program, broke the school record, and placed 5th at the state cross-country meet. Emma currently goes to Loyola University where she runs cross-country and track. Her major is currently undecided.
Our fifth teacher is Mrs. Kroner. Mrs. Kroner graduated from Mercy as part of the class of 1980. She went to the University of Cincinnati where she got her bachelors in Education. She has been back to teach at Mercy since 1994. Mrs Kroner is a summer urban immersion leader. She is one of our amazing Social Studies teachers.
Our sixth and final student is Haley Dannemiller. Haley graduated from Mercy with the class of 2014. She is now attending Wittenberg University in Springfield Ohio. Here she is playing basketball and lacrosse. Her major is undecided. She is most remembered for her quirky personality and being the “friendly giant”.
Our sixth and final teacher is Mrs. McCall. Mrs. McCall graduated from Mercy as a part of the class of 1985. She went to Miami University in Oxford Ohio. She has been back at Mercy High School since 1990 teaching as one of our amazing Science teachers.
