Netflix could probably be recognized as one of the greatest things to have ever been invented, but like all good things there is always some bad. Every year I always see the list of movies/ tv shows that are going to be deleted from Netflix when the new year comes around. This year I was really upset at some of the movies that were deleted at 12:00 AM on January 1, 2015. I really enjoy 80s movies and for “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “The Breakfast Club” to be deleted I thought I was going to slip into a of depression. As I scrolled down the lengthy list of movies that would cease to exist on Netflix at 12:01 I noticed that “My Girl” and “My Girl 2” were on it. At this point I stopped scrolling any just gave up on life because it blows my mind how one can get rid of such great movies in any point in time. Other classic movies that were deleted from Netflix include: “The Titanic”, “Carrie”, “The Parent Trap”, and “Happy Gilmore”. I was probably most upset/ taken off guard by the removal of “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody”. Now I started this series because I did not want to watch “One Tree Hill” and I had already finished season 3 of “American Horror Story”. I never saw it listed with the rest of the movies/ shows that were going to be removed so I was not worried about not being able to finish it before 2014 started. Let’s just say I was super caught off guard when I went to watch another episode and it was not in my recently watched… So I did what any person would do, and I searched for it and it did not come up. I think that I was most upset about it being removed from Netflix was because it was not listed and I was not prepared for the emotional trauma it caused me when I found out.
Though the good in this is that Netflix still comes through clutch by adding the very famous series…. FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!! They are also adding many other things throughout the month of January but I’m most excited about “Friends” so I’m just going to leave it at that. I’ll still always be a little upset about “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” but maybe the 9 seasons of Friends can hold me over for long enough that I forget about it.
