Basketball Celebrates Seniors

By Abby Connor ’15

On Thursday January 29th, it was senior night for Mercy basketball, the bobcats played St. Ursula Academy. Varsity lost a hard fought battle, 54-50. There was a good turnout of students that came to support the seniors! The theme was a red out because the senior’s color is red.
The student section filled the gym with loud cheers and love for the seniors. There are three senior captains who lead the team: Emma Bley, Meggie Hartmann, and De’Jah Locke. There are a total of six seniors on the team: Emma Bley, Meggie Hartmann, De’Jah Locke, Brooklynn Sturwold, Alexis Von Holle, and manager Sabrina Macke.
After the game, they announced the parents of all the seniors. Their teammates gave speeches about each senior. It was a night full of smiles, tears, and memories!
