By Lindsay Eichhold ’18

Teenagers are always on top of the trendiest styles or ideas. The newest trend streaming from teen’s phones this spring is an app called “My Idol.” This app is in Mandarin Chinese, but it’s friendly user-interface allows for people who speak other languages to easily use the app.

In the “My Idol” app, people take pictures of themselves, their friends or random strangers, and then turns the pictures into an animated version of the person! After the animation is created then the person using the app can adjust the skin tone, age, hair and eye color, and clothes of the animated person. But it doesn’t stop there…

The animated person can be edited into different picture poses and even videos! To show how the app works, I edited Emma Dougoud ’16 into an animated person. This app is a super fun way to spend your time if you’re lonely and looking for some friends who will  never leave your side!!

If you’re interested in downloading this FREE app, just search “My Idol” in the App Store search bar, download and create as many animations as your heart desires!
