The Pride of La Salle High School Marching Band had quite the first competition on Saturday, September 12th. The Kings Invitational was an end to an incredibly busy week for the band, with rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Harvest Home Parade on Thursday, and a football game against Colerain on Friday.

The La Salle Band performed their show, “Gone,” which includes “Say Something” by A Great Big World, “Sensemayá” by Silvestre Revueltas, “Dies Irae” (from Mass in D minor) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and “There’s No Place Like Home” (from the Lost Soundtrack) by Michael Giacchino.

The band ended up taking home trophies for Best Percussion, Best Guard, Best Music, Best Visual Effect, Best General Effect, and 1st place in our class! What a great way to officially kick off the competition season.

The band’s next competition is BOA Dayton at the University of Dayton on October 3rd.
