Mercy students at 2014 Life March

During our October life club meeting, we decorated cupcakes to celebrate all the babies who died from abortion and didn’t get a birthday. We all sang happy birthday in memory of the babies and enjoyed the blue and pink cupcakes.

We also talked about the March for life, what it’s all about, and what it really means to be pro-life.

March for life:
The first March for life was held on January 22, 1974 to peacefully protest the recent Roe v. Wade decision. An estimated 20,000 attended. Soon after the March, which was only intended to be a one time event, it became apparent that legal protection for the unborn was not on the horizon. It was then decided that the March for life would be an annual event to protest legalized abortion. The life March has been held every year since and the number of participants continues to grow.

Being pro-life:
Being pro-life doesn’t just mean your against abortion, it means you protect and defend the dignity of every human person from conception till natural death.
