On Monday, December 7, fans of the pop-punk music genre were excited to hear about a 2016 world tour from their favorite up and coming bands. State Champs and Neck Deep announced that they will be joining forces with Knuckle Puck and Like Pacific starting in February of 2016 for the US leg of their co-headlining world tour. Throughout the months of February and March, the bands will be making stops in Montreal and Toronto, along with cities in The States like Cleveland, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and New York City, ending their tour on March 19 at the So What?! Festival in Dallas, Texas.
State Champs VIP bundles are currently available at www.showstubs.com/statechamps and general admission tickets go on sale on Friday, December 11.
The bands were all very excited to announce the tour, tweeting:
State Champs then followed that tweet up with:
To say a few of us are excited would be an understatement. I’ve personally been waiting to see State Champs live for a year. They’re even on my “Before I Die” concert bucket list!
Even if you’re not like me and aren’t necessarily into State Champs specifically, the lineup has enough bands to keep you entertained throughout the night. Some people are even interested in going just to see the other acts.
Kayla Gay ‘17 is most excited for the co-headliners, Neck Deep. She says, “Neck Deep is from the UK and although they just became a band in 2012, they’re already getting popular in the US! They were at Vans Warped Tour over the summer and there was a huge crowd for them.”
Alex Prinzbach (Lasalle ‘18) adds, “Knuckle Puck is my love. They’re bringing the edginess back into pop punk, something that has been absent from the genre since the early 2000s. They are reviving a sound that could only be found on records from last decade and it’s nice to experience the genre all over again.”
Bottom line, the 2016 Alt Press World tour is something you’re not gonna want to miss so be sure to find a city near you and purchase your tickets!
