How To Paint A Monogram Canvas

Emily Rickett ’16

If your walls in your room are boring and plain, this is a great DIY project for you! I’m going to show you how to paint a very fun and simple craft… A Monogram Canvas! There are 2 ways to make this craft, an easier way, and a harder way. Here are the steps to both:

The Easier Monogram Canvas:

  1. Get a canvas in your desirable size
  2. Get sticker letters with your initials
  3. Paint the entire background whatever color you want your initials to be
  4. Once dry, put your sticker letters in the center of your canvas
  5. Paint over the entire canvas, including over the stickers
  6. Once dry, your canvas is complete. Your initials will be one color and your background will be another

Tip: If you want, after step 5, paint over everything in white so your first color doesn’t mix with your second.

The Harder Monogram Canvas:

  1. Get a canvas in your desirable size
  2. Paint the background whatever color you want it to be
  3. Let dry
  4. In another color, paint your initials onto the center of the canvas
  5. Once dry, your canvas is complete

Tips: This is the harder canvas, because you have to hand draw your monogram. Also, you can make your canvas more exciting by adding designs such as stripes, or glitter!

Here is an example of a monogram that I made. I hand drew it, and added a circle around my monogram! I hope this how to tutorial helps you add an extra touch to your room!monogram
